Nutrition
Program

We sow health and hope for future generations.

Proper nutrition is the foundation for a healthy and prosperous future. Through our comprehensive program, we work in the communities of Mesa Rica, El Manzano and La Huerta San Agustín to combat malnutrition, promote healthy habits, and strengthen local food sovereignty. With this we aim to sow health for future generations and facilitate more equitable access to nutritious foods.

Comprehensive strategy based
on three fundamental pillars:

School meal programs

In partnership with rural schools in these three communities we have remodeled and built eight school kitchens equipped to provide nutritious pesticide-free breakfasts and lunches to 349 students.

Mothers actively participate in organized teams to prepare meals based on menus designed with guidance from Dr. Dieter le Noir, integrative medicine specialist, and the program’s lead nutritionist.

Nutrition workshops

We train mothers in nutrition and self-care to make more informed food choices, while implementing dynamic educational sessions on healthy habits for students of all grade levels, with support from strategic partners.

Educational school gardens

We create school gardens where children and youth can grow, learn about and enjoy fresh foods, fostering healthy habits and a connection to the land from an early age.
