Through songs and chords, we create pathways for equity, health, and individual/collective wellbeing.

Music Appreciation Classes and Choir Formation

Arts education is an essential right for holistic development, though it’s frequently excluded from curricula in Mexico. Art—and especially music—cultivates sensitivity, creativity, and social cohesion. This is why we bring a music education program to schools in La Huerta San Agustín, Mesa Rica, and El Manzano, using voice as a tool for collective expression and transformative storytelling. We conduct biannual impact evaluations on empathy, learning, and school behavior.

Through this program, we’ve helped transform and inspire 403 children and youth through community choir formation, instrument training, and music initiation. Of these participants, 283 belong to the choir, 86 study guitar, and 12 play the ukulele.

Community Choir

The Community Choir builds on the voice as the first instrument—a tool for expression and connection. We provide singing, guitar, and ukulele classes for school choirs from preschool through high school, fostering inclusion, cultural exchange, and social bonds through collective art.

Guitar and Ukulele Classes

Our string instrument program teaches basic techniques for playing original compositions alongside traditional melodies. Each day, more children and youth master plucked string instruments.

Initial Music

These sessions are designed to introduce preschool and early elementary school students to the basics of music, such as rhythm, melody, harmony, and artistic expression, through hands-on, playful, and sensory activities that spark their interest in and understanding of musical language.

English

In a complementary way and thanks to volunteerism, we offer English classes that promote creativity and encourage cultural diversity through a playful methodology based on music as a learning tool.
